about CAlira

Every lab is different

  • Workflow-based reservations for multiple instruments
  • Automatic booking sequences based on protocol & availability
  • Lab-specific constraints for how and when users can book

Different science, different equipment, different personalities, different pressures: no two labs operate the same way. Calira adapts to each lab and every workflow.

Our mission

We exist to help lab managers and LabOps teams keep research running

We launched our booking tool in 2019. 11 million bookings later, we’re still focused on one goal: removing operational friction so scientists can focus on discovery.

What our customers say

“We get an extremely granular view of how every piece of equipment is being used down to the exact minute.”

Gísli Karl Gíslason
Project Manager, University of Iceland Science Park

“Without it, we probably would have bought more kit than we really needed. Calira gave us the visibility to see where we could share or reallocate instead.

Jasmine Freeman
Lab Manager, Moa Technology

“The most valuable aspect is the visibility among the users—knowing what’s available to book. From a LabOps perspective, it’s become our record management system for servicing, embedded into our SOPs.”

Vipul Bhakta
Director of Facilities Operations, AviadoBio

“Calira helped us improve our equipment usage and planning processes within our teams. It's also handy for me to have oversight of the utilization of our instruments.”

Solveig Pettersen
Head of Laboratory and EHS, Nykode Therapeutics

"Calira has improved the process of booking laboratory equipment in our R&D teams, created visibility across teams, improved insight into real time equipment status and allowed us to gather data for equipment usage with ease.

Nicole Williams
Lab Manager, Freenome

"I haven't needed to log in in the last two weeks to sort anything out. Scheduling runs quite a lot smoother now."

Bishoy Habib
Lab Manager, Lonza
