What our customers say

“We get an extremely granular view of how every piece of equipment is being used down to the exact minute.”

Gísli Karl Gíslason
Project Manager, University of Iceland Science Park

“Without it, we probably would have bought more kit than we really needed. Calira gave us the visibility to see where we could share or reallocate instead.

Jasmine Freeman
Lab Manager, Moa Technology

Frequently asked questions

How do I schedule lab equipment maintenance in Calira?

Open the lab calendar, select the instrument, and drag to set the start and end time. Under Advanced Options, switch the booking type from 'Use' to 'Maintenance' and pick the type: cleaning, recalibration, preventative maintenance, and so on. The booking shows in orange and blocks users from booking during that window.

01
Can I set up recurring lab equipment maintenance bookings?

Yes. Maintenance can be booked as single or recurring events, so routine servicing, calibrations, and safety checks run automatically on the schedule you set with no need to re-enter them each time.

02
How do I notify lab users when equipment is down for maintenance?

Scheduled maintenance appears on the lab calendar in orange and blocks new bookings automatically. For unplanned breakdowns or broader notices, send an equipment-related announcement to alert affected users instantly.

03
Can I keep a service history for each instrument?

Yes. Every maintenance booking is logged against the instrument on its Maintenance tab, including the type of activity, notes, and who completed it. This gives you a searchable paper trail for SOPs, supplier reviews, and inspections.

04
Can Calira remind me before equipment service contracts expire?

Yes. Attach service contracts to each instrument and receive automated expiry alerts, so you never miss a renewal window or run equipment past its coverage date.
