Testimonials

What our customers say

“We get an extremely granular view of how every piece of equipment is being used down to the exact minute.”

Gísli Karl Gíslason
Project Manager, University of Iceland Science Park

“Without it, we probably would have bought more kit than we really needed. Calira gave us the visibility to see where we could share or reallocate instead.

Jasmine Freeman
Lab Manager, Moa Technology

“The most valuable aspect is the visibility among the users—knowing what’s available to book. From a LabOps perspective, it’s become our record management system for servicing, embedded into our SOPs.”

Vipul Bhakta
Director of Facilities Operations, AviadoBio

“Calira helped us improve our equipment usage and planning processes within our teams. It's also handy for me to have oversight of the utilization of our instruments.”

Solveig Pettersen
Head of Laboratory and EHS, Nykode Therapeutics

"Calira has improved the process of booking laboratory equipment in our R&D teams, created visibility across teams, improved insight into real time equipment status and allowed us to gather data for equipment usage with ease.

Nicole Williams
Lab Manager, Freenome

"I haven't needed to log in in the last two weeks to sort anything out. Scheduling runs quite a lot smoother now."

Frequently asked questions

How does Calira stop lab equipment booking conflicts?

Calira replaces shared calendars and spreadsheets with a single live booking system. Every user sees real-time availability for every instrument in their group, so double-booking isn't possible. Bookings are tied to access rules, so only users with the right permissions can reserve a given instrument.

01
Do some bookings require approval, and can I configure that per instrument?

Yes. You can set approval rules on specific instruments and for specific users so sensitive or high-demand equipment requires admin sign-off before a booking can be made, while routine instruments remain free to book instantly.

02
Can Calira prevent users from booking during weekends or outside lab hours?

Yes. You can set usage schedules per access group or per user, specifying the days and hours when booking is allowed.

03
Can users end a booking early so others can use the equipment sooner?

Yes. Users can end bookings early if they finish ahead of schedule, freeing the equipment for others. This is controlled by an admin setting and helps reduce held-but-unused time, a common driver of perceived booking conflicts.

04
Can users modify or cancel a booking they've already made?

Yes, with admin-configured limits.
