What our customers say

“We get an extremely granular view of how every piece of equipment is being used down to the exact minute.”

Gísli Karl Gíslason
Project Manager, University of Iceland Science Park

“Without it, we probably would have bought more kit than we really needed. Calira gave us the visibility to see where we could share or reallocate instead.

Jasmine Freeman
Lab Manager, Moa Technology

“The most valuable aspect is the visibility among the users—knowing what’s available to book. From a LabOps perspective, it’s become our record management system for servicing, embedded into our SOPs.”

Vipul Bhakta
Director of Facilities Operations, AviadoBio

“Calira helped us improve our equipment usage and planning processes within our teams. It's also handy for me to have oversight of the utilization of our instruments.”

Solveig Pettersen
Head of Laboratory and EHS, Nykode Therapeutics

"Calira has improved the process of booking laboratory equipment in our R&D teams, created visibility across teams, improved insight into real time equipment status and allowed us to gather data for equipment usage with ease.

Nicole Williams
Lab Manager, Freenome

"I haven't needed to log in in the last two weeks to sort anything out. Scheduling runs quite a lot smoother now."

Lab Manager, Lonza

Frequently asked questions

How does Calira give my team better lab equipment visibility?

Calira creates a single master directory of every instrument in your labs, searchable and filterable by location, type, team, or status. Combined with a shared booking calendar and usage reports, it gives ops, scientists, and leadership a consistent view of what exists, where it is, who can use it, and how it's being used.

01
How do I organise equipment by location, room, or lab?

You can assign equipment to specific rooms and labs, and create new rooms as your lab grows. This keeps the asset directory structured geographically—useful when scientists need to find the nearest available instrument or when managers are planning capacity by site.

02
Can I label or tag instruments to make them easier to find?

Yes. You can create custom labels by function, location, access group, or any other dimension, and colour-code them. Labels appear on the equipment overview and details pages, so users can filter the directory by the terms that matter in your lab.

03
Can I attach documents, images, and safety information to equipment records?

Yes. Each equipment record can hold attached documents (e.g. SOPs, manuals, safety data sheets, warranty certificates) alongside images and metadata. This makes the directory a single source of truth for everything about an instrument, not just its availability.

04
How do I manage equipment visibility across multiple labs?

Calira supports multi-lab account hierarchies, so you can centrally manage equipment, users, and bookings across multiple sites while still giving each lab appropriate autonomy. Users see the instruments relevant to their access group; admins see the full cross-lab picture.
